Rotorua East is a not-for-profit kindergarten situated in Owhata suburb in Rotorua. We are licensed for 40 tamariki and cater for tamariki from two years old up till 6 years.

Six years ago, the kindergarten was badly flooded and had to take up temporary residence at Lynmore Primary School where we operated for about one year before the kindergarten could be rebuilt in the original position. As you can understand all the funds have been placed into the remodeling of the kindergarten leaving little funding for additional resourcing. A lot of resources were lost in the flood and therefore the kindergarten has been slowly renewing toys and resources over time. Secondhand carpets are being used while the kindergarten continues to improve resources for the whole centre. To have new carpets for kindergarten would be a huge boost to what is currently being provided and make the areas that tamariki sit and play on much more comfortable.
